My Testimony

Lynda Bullock

I've been a Christian all of my life. I was Baptized as an infant, and I was raised in the church believing Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. Until March 2002, my faith was never really tested. During this time in my life, I had to search deep within my soul. It was at this time when I realized that I truly believed and trusted in God.

I was working at a relatively new job when I was offered a position elsewhere. I prayed to God for His help in making the right decision. I loved the job I was at, but the job I was being offered was closer to home and would also pay more. Wouldn't you know it, God answered my prayer! That week at church, during the Pastor's sermon, it was as if God was speaking directly to me. He was telling me that there were going to be changes in my life and I should be open to them and accept them and to TRUST Him!! Okay, I thought. There's my answer--I should take the job offer.

Needless to say, God wasn't telling me to take that job. He was preparing me for something bigger than a new job for me. I started my new job and in the first month that I was working there, my husband received a job offer. This couldn't have come at a better time.

The company he had been working at for 12 years was reorganizing. It was just a matter of time before his job was to be eliminated. Now comes the part where I had to trust God. This job offer was not in our home state of Georgia, it was in Maryland! I've never had to put my faith to the test like this before. Could I leave my home of 40 years, uproot our children from their home and school and friends, leave both mine and my husbands families? I prayed again to God and He answered me with a resounding YES!

Everyone we knew reaffirmed that God had a purpose for us in Maryland. At that time, I couldn't imagine what that purpose could be. But now I know. If we had not had to move to Maryland, my faith in Jesus would not be what it is now. In Georgia I went to church, enjoyed a lot of fellowship activities, but I was not developing a relationship with Jesus.

Since moving to Maryland, our family has joined the Lutheran Church of Our Savior where I'm learning how to have a relationship with Jesus Christ. I can't praise God enough. He knew exactly where I needed to be. I just had to trust Him.

May God Bless you too!
